Description:
Mesotherapy is a procedure used mainly in the treating of cellulite but it may also be used for wrinkle reduction. Cellulite appears because tiny fat nodules form under the skin, these nodules cause the skin to look uneven creating the unappealing look. Mesotherapy breaks down the fat nodules resulting in smoother, more attractive skin.

The Procedure:
Mesotherapy consists of a series of injections of a specially formulated chemical. This chemical breaks down the fat nodules that cause cellulite and increase blood flow in the area. The number of injections required varies by individual; it generally starts as a weekly treatment that becomes less frequent as the cellulite is removed.

Time Required:
Each treatment lasts only a few minutes and the frequency of the treatment varies by individual.

Side Effects:
Side effects are rare and mild. Some patients may experience bruising in the treated area.

Risks:
Mesotherapy is a relatively risk-free treatment, but like all medical procedures it caries some risk. There is a small chance of infection or pigmentation change in the treated area.

Results vary by individual and by the number of treatments received. In general the more frequent the treatments the longer the results will last.
