Stretch Mark Removal

Stretch marks can be difficult to remove, but there are some treatment methods used by skin care professionals that can greatly reduce the appearance and development of stretch marks.  The most common stretch mark treatment methods include topical creams, Microdermabrasion, Laser Skin Rejuvenation or laser treatments, and Laser Skin Resurfacing procedures such as Fraxel.  Most clinics that offer non-surgical methods for stretch mark removal usually offer a combination of microdermabrasion and laser treatments.  This is possibly the most effective, safe treatment for stretch marks.

Microdermabrasion - Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin with a fine spray of aluminum oxide crystals.  Microdermabrasion is typically not effective for permanent skin problems like deep wrinkles or permanent scars, but for removing stretch marks, microdermabrasion can help to greatly lessen their appearance.  The success of stretch mark removal depends on how extensive the stretch mark damage is, and how recently the stretch mark appeared.  While not the most powerful, microdermabrasion is one of the safest treatments out there.

Topical Creams – StriVectin®, Zenmed® Stretta, and Trilastin®  are a few of the topical stretch mark creams on the market.  Most creams can be purchased at med spas or used in conjunction with your microdermabrasion treatment.  Used daily, stretch mark removal creams can alter the length, depth, and irregular surface of stretch marks.  Like microdermabrasion, removal has been found to work best with creams on more recent stretch marks.

Laser Treatments – Laser skin rejuvenation for stretch mark removal is a safe option to try to reestablish natural collagen to a scarred area.  The discoloration of stretch marks is often due to poor collagen flow.  Fraxel, or laser skin resurfacing, removes the outer layer of skin and promotes new cell growth.  Lasers are good for deep wrinkles and for eliminating mild to moderate stretch marks.

No treatment today is 100% at treating long-term stretch marks.  The best advice is to remove them as soon as they appear.  For the most extreme cases of stretch marks, your best option is to check with a certified skin care professional and devise a combination of proven aesthetic treatments.

"I want to end my contract and further treatments I was so upset. I ended up passing out after your procedure because of the burns to my body, resulted in shock. I was in extreme pain after and couldn't stop shaking from the pain. I am also, pregnant now and I am trying to reach your manager at the water tower office who dodges my phone calls and won't return them. I am extremely unhappy with the service now.
