I was watching the show Jon & Kate Plus 8 on TLC, and I just saw the episode where Jon Gosselin gets hair transplant surgery. A pretty brave thing to do with all cameras on you. And I have to say, I never really thought much of Jon (looks wise – I'm sure he's a fine father of 8), but he was looking pretty good after his hair transplantation. Of course, he could simply have been run ragged by having so many kids! A little "me time" can always help someone look their best. And okay, it's not like he turned into a super model, but you could really see a difference. I really think it's the confidence, it's not that new hair really makes Jon look any better, but he just carries himself with more confidence, and, of course, he looks much happier, too.
The episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was actually a pretty good summary of what hair restoration surgery actually does, too. The hair transplant surgeon explained that it's not the hairs that get transplanted, but the seeds. The transplanted hairs will actually fall out, but the seeds will remain intact and then grow new hair. Although, Jon did due a bit of a faux pas by wearing a hat. He didn't want to be seen with his bandaged head, so he threw a hat on, and actually pulled out some of his hair transplants. Isn't it amazing where our little egos pop up. Here's a guy that's been going bald for years, he just got hair surgery, but can't stand the thought of being seen for the three minutes until he gets to his car. To give him some credit, he was a little woozy after the hair transplantations, it's probably a good idea to have someone there to look out for you.
Hair loss surgery might not have made Jon Gosselin into a model, of course. But it's hard to argue with results. In my book, confidence definitely equals sexiness.
