"It's been 3 years since my otoplasty and I'm still so pleased I underwent this procedure. My protruding ears have always bothered me and I'm so glad I wasn't stuck with them.

My surgery went well. was a total success as far as I'm concerned. Today, my ears aren't perfect-looking. I think the tops of my ears are a little elfish, and sometimes they tingle a bit if pressure is applied to them. "I had a bilateral otoplasty a few weeks ago. During surgery I felt no pain at all, but one of my ears is still feeling tingly and somewhat painful at this point. "I'm a 24-year-old guy, and I was really sick of being embarassed about my ears. All through high school I kept my hair long to hide how they stuck out. So several months ago, I met with a few ear surgeons, chose the one I liked best, and plunked down some of my savings to pin the things back.

The doctor used several shots of local anesthesia around my ears. I started feeling a little pain towards the end of the surgery and they gave me a few more shots for good mesure. The surgery took nearly four hours - longer than I was expecting, but overall not bad.

I got some hardcore painkillers to help with pain afterwards. Went back in to have the stitches removed after a week, and next made an overdue trip to Super Cuts! I'm very pleased with the final results, ears are symmetrical and close-fitting to my head. Family and friends have also told me I look great.
