"This place was the WORST EVER!!!!. My daughter was a patient there never ever go here EVER!!! They have so many different esthetician each time. They don't know what the heck they are doing. Don't make appointments on Saturday. I have made two and each time I showed up the door was locked no call or anything saying they were not going to be there. How unprofessional is that. Then they have the nerve to not call you back to reschedule the appointment that they were supposed to be there for. I had to call them, then It is an excuse well we didn't have your number to call you. I am so hateful of this place I will bad mouth each chance I get. They never made anything right at all. "I paid the price for male genital hair removal and after just shy of 3 years (yes, 3 years) of treatment, I still have hair where I paid for there to be none. I am very white with black hair; I was told I was the perfect candidate. Estheticians I worked with were great; professional, polite, nice; I have no problem with their behavior.

The service itself, however, is not what it is sold as. I paid for alot; genitals, neck and a few other small areas. I have not missed a treatment and kept out of the sun (yes, for 3 years, it was a pain to do so, but I did) and still have 'reduction' but not 'removal' of hair. Neither does my wife and we both had ALOT of body parts done.

If I do not have complete hair removal (very white skin, very dark hair, perfect attendance for 3 years, followed all the rules) in any of the locations I paid for, I don't think anyone actually will. " - Submitted by Anonymous of Littleton, CO

"Everyone was very friendly and answered questions. The problem is that I was led to believe that this would work and it doesn't. So I spent nearly $3000 for it not to work. "I met with office manager, and she explained to me the procedure. After 7 sessions I notice that all the hair is turning white instead of falling out. When I talked to office manager and explained to her the problem, after that she would not return any of my calls or gave any info on what would be the next step. She was rude to me and she said if I was not happy I should stop the sessions and fille a complain. I had to do find out on my own witch number to call to file a complain. "I didn't have just one service - my particular problem requires several treatments, spaced about 6 weeks apart, and as of now I have only had 2 sessions. "I basically was very tired of shaving my legs. I'm very busy leaving no time to shave. Invested a reasonable amount of money, and opted to go to a hair removal company that has a medical staff. I'm very glad I did, unfortunately as a close friend went to a spa place and got burned and the woman treating her hardly spoke English. I suggest you stick to the experts. "I have expereince with a provider prior to this so I have something to compare with. This provider is more expensive but much more accomodating: appointments are available at convenient times, the equipment seems to work consistently, I am receiving on-going value by being able to have many treatments during the time purchased and can continue after that and pay a much smaller fee for troublesome areas. "The service is actually for 6 sessions with the added benefit of free sessions up to 2 years. So, the $2145 is for basically 2 years of services or $90/month. Great price! Also, the technicians were very willing to work with me on the laser strength for each session and went to great lengths to accommodate me, particularly after the procedure. I was thoroughly impressed with the facility, staff, and process. I would go back for more procedures like the skin rejunvenation. ALC offers so much; it's hard to decide what to do next.

I am having my facial hair removed, what little I have. I never had much facial hair or much body hair for that matter. I was a bit apprehensive about doing laser hair removal of my hair, but each session was virutally painless and quick (under 10 minutes). I was so surprised at how easy it was and how quickly I saw results (after only 2 sessions). The third session was even better! Also, the techs are such sweet people. "I had a consultation my mom went with me, that was alright, then I made an appointment so far so good. I have been to three appointments as of June 6, 2009. My next appointment was on Sat July 11, 2009. This is where my mom gets annoyed with this place. We arrived for my appointment on July 11. The door was locked. We knocked no one there. So my mom called on that Monday, left a message, no response. She called on Tuesday left a message, no response. She then called on Wednesday and left another message, no response. She called on Thursday and finally someone answered. My mom asked why no one called her back. The lady in the office said the machine was blank. What???? I received no explanation as to why no one was there that day. They did nothing to make sure I was happy at all. "This company is very communicative during the phase of trying to get you to sign up for services. After intial contract agreeing upon services, my job hours were cut and I met with AL staff to change my contract to cut out Velashape services and keep hair removal only. This was over a month prior to the date any services were to be performed, prior to any billing set-up, etc. The staff would not return my calls or confirm the agreement after checking with their supervisor. I left numerous pleasant messages, and was finally given the O.K. upon my written request to change the service contract. To date, they are still billing me the original higher price for services which I am not recieving. The financial agency handling their contract states there has been no correspondence about changing my billing. It feels like a scam-- they get people signed up and begin collecting money and ignore them after that. "My 1st appointment was to review laser hair removal from my face/neck and arms.
I was told up front that Laser Hair removal is not permanent and that additional treatments would be needed yearly after sucessful hair removal of the areas noted above was completed. While the truth was told, it is a very expensive procedure and should be covered by insurance especially since women should not have excessive hair on face and arms.

I am now in the yearly stages but it still costs approximately $700.00/yr to remove the unwanted hair. The hair does get lighter and patchy as time goes by. Hopefully the price will go lower.

As for tips, I have not given tips. But in review of the type of work it is, I am considering doing a gift card because the technician does not get paid very well and basically is working for health insurance for her and her family.

"I just finished the 3rd of 6 treatments. I am seeing some improvement but need to wait to see the final result.

My only complaint is that, during my last visit, the person administrating the treatment was very pushy trying to sell more treatments. I told her many times I was not interested and she sort of make fun of me, and insisted. It got to be very uncomfortable because she told me that since I have sun spots in my face, it was important to treat them. I said that I was treating them with my dermatologist and that I had stopped that treatment for a while until I finished this laser treatment.
The person got very defensive and told me that that I had to bring the creams I was using to the office, that they also had protocols and may decide not to treat me. I repeated what I had said and told her that I was more than happy to bring the cream I had used. Then she said that that was not necessary. Any ways... all of this happened while I was laying down with my eyes covered!
Very, very uncomfortable. I will request not to be treated by that same person next time I go, which is in 2 weeks.

"I think the one-year procedure that I'm receiving at American Laser Centers in San Juan, PR is somewhat expensive, at least for the amount of hair removal that I'm getting. I think its a little over-priced and after 4 sessions, which are once per month, I still haven't seen any actual results. "I was shocked when they asked for tips. I don't agree with that, they need to put that somewhere in their brochure about tipping. I went with my daughter to her procedure just could not believe that. I feel that I am paying a lot for laser hair and then to ask for tips on top of that, just made me angry. If you don't tip them then they do a horrible job on the next procedure. My daughter said that the lady didn't do her neck on the second procedure, but on the first one she did, is that because i didn't want to tip her? That was wrong. "Being African American, I was very hesitant about scarring from the lasers. Mariana Luna at the clinic was very helpful in answering all my questions and giving me extra information about my options in permanent hair removal. I left the clinic that day still uneasy about laser use on my face (since I'm getting ready for my wedding June 6, 2009)but within 3 hours, I called back and signed a contract. I couldn't be happier with the service I have received at the clinic. If I had to do it all over again....I would. "They assured me all the treated hair would be permanently removed. Apparently that was not the case, the lighter hairs are showing no reduction at all.
