By definition, Cardio or Cardiovascular exercise includes any form of rhythmic activity that raises your heart rate into your Target Heart Rate Zone, which is based on your age and level of fitness. You can usually tell if you're in your Target Heart Rate Zone if your heart is beating fast, but you're still able to speak without being completely winded. A cardio class could include everything from running, swimming, and cycling to high impact aerobics, boxing, and even weight training.
