Today I came across an article one of my SignatureForum cohorts, Andrew Clayman, had written for our site's "News & Articles" section. It's about a recent study that determined the world's "ten healthiest sports." Check it out here:

Now while I'll admit that I found the points of comparison quite interesting, I'm not so sure I can agree with the results. Squash-- the healthiest sport in the world? Don't get me wrong, squash and racquetball provide fantastic workouts and they're a lot of fun, too! But what this research failed to address was the nature of the competition.
While sports like basketball and cycling certainly require more consistent energy exertion than, say, baseball, it still comes down to how hard you play; not just which sport you're playing. If you're playing your hardest and you have a worthy opponent, any sport has the potential to be a fantastic form of exercise. Well, maybe not croquet. But you get the idea.
