Hello again, and Happy New Year from everyone here at SignatureForum! As you might expect, January is always a very busy time in the world of aesthetics, as millions of people try to follow through on those resolutions to look their best. Unfortunately, these goals can be harder to accomplish during winter’s post-holiday malaise. That’s why many folks are seeking out exciting, potentially life-changing cosmetic procedures to help sculpt their bodies, remove cellulite, and enhance their overall appearance.

Body Shaping & Cellulite Removal

Getting to Know Your Options
We all know that modern plastic surgery can work wonders, helping people overcome imperfections, soften their body contours and improve their figure. However, before jumping into the economical and physical commitment that surgery entails, it’s imperative that you also consider the many affordable, non-surgical alternatives that are out there, particularly for body shaping and cellulite removal.

With this in mind, we’ve decided to take a closer look at some non-surgical aesthetic procedures this month, in order to help you make informed, practical decisions about your aesthetic future. While many of these treatments are referred to as “alternatives to Liposuction,” it’s important to remember that, while highly useful for removing large fat deposits via suction tubing, Liposuction surgery is not an effective means of removing cellulite. For this reason, many of the treatments below are not only simpler, more affordable cosmetic options, but they can be more effective for people dealing with stubborn cellulite.

Chances are, you've heard about Mesotherapy; the anti-cellulite treatment that's been all the rage in cosmetic clinics around the world for years. Developed in France, Mesotherapy treatments involve a series of minimally invasive injections, which help break down the connective bonds of fat cells beneath the skin's surface. The amount and length of your treatments will depend on the extent of the area being treated, but for many patients, the appearance of cellulite is noticeably reduced after just 4-5 sessions. At the same time, Mesotherapy acts as a body contouring solution, as well, reshaping areas in which fat deposits have been dispersed.

Think of LipoDissolve™ as Mesotherapy's "buff" cousin. Both treatments inject fat chambers with a formulation designed to break down the connective material of fat cells, but LipoDissolve™ boasts a more concentrated solution that, according to some studies, might produce quicker, more noticeable results. Not surprisingly, LipoDissolve™ has been skyrocketing in popularity as a treatment for both body sculpting and cellulite removal, but be sure you talk with a reputable specialist before deciding whether Mesotherapy or LipoDissolve™ might be best for you.

Here's another great treatment that does double-duty as a body contouring and anti-cellulite solution. VelaSmooth™ acts like a skincare dream team of sorts, combining several treatments into one process known as "elos" technology (electrical optical synergy). Elos includes infrared light energy, bi-polar radio frequencies, suction, and massaging rollers, which all act together to help VelaSmooth™ patients get remarkably smoother, firmer skin.

Sort of like a simplified version of VelaSmooth™, Endermologie leaves out the infrared and radio energy, focusing instead on the concentrated manipulation of the skin with suction and dual action rollers. Endermologie is one of the most affordable and stress-free cellulite treatments available, but it's not often regarded as a strong body sculpting technique.

Other Non-Surgical Treatments

There are many other quality, non-surgical methods out there for body contouring. The Arasys Inch-Loss System utilizes a muscle stimulating machine to simulate the effect of 300 sit-ups in just 20 minutes of inactivity! Meanwhile, the treatments Thermage and Titan™ use laser and infrared energy, respectively, to encourage collagen development for skin tightening and shaping. None of these are considered effective cellulite removal treatments, however.

Body Shaping and Cellulite Removal

Hopefully, the graph below will help sum up which treatments elicit which types of results. The good news is that clearly, there is no shortage of options out there for anyone hoping to get rid of cellulite or sculpt and tone their body. As always, the best way to make your final treatment decision is to consult with an aesthetic specialist who can assess your unique situation directly and lead you toward your best solution.
